Dr. Frank Wang makes donation in remembrance of special teacher | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
From time to time, most of us think the men and women who taught us in elementary or high school. Hopefully, we recall them with fond memories
But an Oklahoma man, Dr. Frank Wang did a lot better than that, today.
Wong, who holds a doctorate in mathematics from MIT, returned to Goodrich Elementary School in North Colonie to give the district a check for $30,000.
The donation is in memory of his second grade teacher, Isabel Robinson, who would not listen to other teachers and professionals who thought ‘Young Frank' had neurological problems that would prevent him from ever learning at a level with other students.
Wong would go on to become the CEO of an academic textbook company.
He's also a visiting Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oklahoma.
