Colonie studio wins StarQuest National Dance competition | News

On Sunday, The World of Dance in Colonie was named the Federation of Dance Competitions Studio of Excellence for 2012 at the StarQuest National dance competition in Virginia Beach.

The studio earned many top finishes, including a perfect score and the Apogee award for “Candyman,” a first place finish for junior soloist MacKenzie Quinn of Colonie and dance titles for senior dancer Hannah Pregont of Latham and junior dancer Brooke Colletti of Ravena.

The studio is co-owned by a mother and daughter team of Barbara Pregont and Danielle Cuzdey. Both have been teaching dance in the local area 60 years.

They have won numerous regional and national awards and their dancers have gone on to Broadway, national tours, theme parks, and have been featured on TV dance and talent shows.
